College of the North Atlantic Desert Cup 2010 |
The College of the North Atlantic Desert Cup 2010 is slated for Feb. 25, 26, 27. This year, Wayne Ruth heads up the Desert Cup organizing committee. Right now, but subject to change, it looks like 8 teams in two divisions. Player registration, an email to Greg Scott, concludes today, Friday, February 5th.
Please note, if you cannot committ to a full wekend of hockey then it's best to sit this cup out. The league will enter four teams with, ideally, 13 skaters + 1 goalie aside.
Stay tuned for further details.
You will note on the QIIHL schedule that we do not play on the Sunday following the cup weekend. A day of rest for all the veterans.
Red Bull Crashed Ice!
No QIIHL hockey on Friday, February 12 as Red bull is sponsoring the crashed ice event. Some of our players are registered with this event. It should be a blast to watch.

Gotta give kudos to Vince Stack (and others?) for the fantastic website. Adding the photos to the players roster was a great addition, especially the comments that are attached with the photo....particularly of Dave Smicer! ... Ken Hickey

CNAQ Team, I checking the posts and came by to see last weeks match. I am more then certain we will get in gear and start knocking out team one by one. I can't wait to get on the ice! Once my gear is down from Toronto I'm gonna do what I do best, Defence . Next game I'm gonna pop into the dressing room to see the team. Cheers boyz. ... Kishan Dayaljee

I think the Q has raised its profile by reaching a critical mass of Physics teachers. Last monday's game between the Breakers and Canadians featured Andy Byrd toe to toe against Tom Coombs as well as Kerry Suek in net with Kevin Sage refereeing!! 4 Physics Teachers on the ice at the same time! BTW, the critical mass comment refers to our numbers rather than our girth. ... Kerry Suek

Hello Guys
Just some news and and a warm message from a former QIIHL Member.
i am still currently working in Switzerland but my two year spent in Qatar is still an experience that i will remember for years and the QIIHL was a great part of that experience.
I'm happy to see that the league is still alive and i hope everyone of you have a good time
Take care
JV (former unit of the "French connection")
PS: My company is sending me from time to time in Singapore and i still play a little bit ice hockey in Switzerland so if there is any spot left and if it is matching with my agenda, i'll be pleased to join the Qanucks

I left my "Heritage" shoulder pads in dressing room 1 last week. If you picked them up, please let me know and I will get them from you.
